AUGUST 21st, 2021, 10 am - 8pm | Colorado Watershed Assembly Benefit Party. On Saturday, August 21st, the Lakewood and surrounding communities are gathering at Green Mountain Beer Company for a benefit fundraiser for the Colorado Watershed Assembly and Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund (CHRF). This event will help us raise money for important watershed clean-up activities throughout Colorado. Expect an exclusive beer release, Food Trucks, Games, A silent Auction, and a dunk tank to drop your favorite beertenders and managers into cold water! For more information click HERE.

AUGUST 26th, 2021, 8:45 am- 4:30 pm | 2021 Colorado Stormwater Symposium. The Colorado Stormwater Center is proud to host the 2021 Colorado Stormwater Symposium, sponsored by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Our focus this year is on the following topics: Fire Impacts on Water Quality, Green Infrastructure in Action, and Innovative Stormwater Education and Training. AUGUST 27th, 2021, 9 am- 10:15 am | Stream Management Plan 101 | River Network. Are you interested in learning whether a Stream Management Plan is a good fit for your community?  Join River Network and the Colorado Water Conservation Board to learn the basics of Stream Management Planning. Stream Management Plans (SMPs) are a priority activity in Colorado as a result of the state’s 2015 Water Plan, which calls for 80% of locally-prioritized streams to have an SMP by 2030. AUGUST 28th, 2021 | River Clean Up | Blue River Watershed Group. River flows are projected to be 50% of average. Now more than ever, river habitat needs our help to ensure contaminants stay out of the water. Your participation as a volunteer or contribution as a sponsor proves you are an advocate for healthy waterways and riparian habitat. Remove garbage from the waterway to restore a healthy riparian ecosystem, enjoy time outdoors, make friends, and win amazing prizes! Prizes include local gift cards and swag. AUGUST 28th, 2021 | Ridgeway RiverFest. The Ridgway RiverFest is a family-friendly celebration of the Uncompahgre River, our watershed and river recreation with all-age river races, live music, local food and drink, kids’ activities, watershed educational and cultural programs. The highlight of the day is the infamous “Junk of the Unc” race in which boaters maneuver their craft, constructed from scrap materials not intended for river travel, through whitewater rapids and others’ junk, trying to keep it all intact for the 0.5 mile finish line. SEPTEMBER 8th-10th, 2021 | Yampa Basin Rendezvous. Warming temperatures and rising snowlines pose serious risks to the boreal, alpine, and riverine ecosystems of the Yampa River Basin. How are we, as a community, measuring the existing seasonal variability and adapting to manage the impacts of current and expected seasonal changes? SEPTEMBER 9th, 2021 | 15th Annual President’s Reception | WEco. Gather for an evening of celebration, networking, and awards as we honor water leadership and raise money for our work. SEPTEMBER 21st, 2021 | RiverBank 2021. Join in celebration at The Denver Botanic Gardens for RiverBank. Colorado Water Trust’s annual fundraiser to restore flows to Colorado rivers in need. SEPTEMBER 25th-OCTOBER 3rd, 2021 | Creek Week Cleanup. The Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District and its many partners will host the 8th Annual Creek Week in the Fountain Creek Watershed and beyond. This 9-day effort provides opportunities for volunteers to directly engage in improving the health of the watershed through cleanups, forest health projects, fundraisers and more. OCTOBER 5TH - 7TH, 2021: 2021 SUSTAINING COLORADO WATERSHEDS CONFERENCE “TOGETHER LIKE NEVER BEFORE” Hybrid Event at the WESTIN in AVON COLORADO. The conference will cover a cross-section of topics ranging from forest health to flood risk management, stakeholder outreach to climate change, streamflow protection to protecting private lands, river restoration to stormwater management, project permitting to water quality protection, and all aspects of adaptation. OCTOBER 11th-13th, 2021: Colorado Open Space Alliance Conference | Grand Hyatt in Vail.

OCTOBER 27th, 2021 | Volunteer Planting Event | RiversEdge West. In recent years, a significant amount of invasive Russian olive and tamarisk have been removed at this beloved park. On October 27th, volunteers will help to further restore this area by planting native plants that will provide a mid-story plant layer that is beneficial for wildlife, birds, and the patrons of the park. The event will run from 9am to 1pm, with lunch available and various snacks and water provided throughout the morning. Volunteers are encouraged to bring knee pads/kneelers, gloves, water bottles, sun protection, and work clothes. This event is limited to the first 20 participants. Click HERE to register.

DECEMBER 9th-10th, 2021 | Colorado Ag Water Summit. Colorado’s Ag Water Summit brings together agricultural leaders, water professionals, elected officials, and decision makers to discuss agricultural water issues. We have a Water Plan, but where does Ag fit into implementing the Water Plan?
